My name is Donald Edwards and I am proud to announce that I will be running for Sampson County Sheriff in the 2026 Election.

As a lifelong resident of Sampson County and a retired Clinton Police Chief, I am passionate about giving back to the community that I proudly call home.

Having 28 years of service with the Clinton Police Department - and serving 4 years as Chief of Police - I have always been focused on professional service, transparency, and respect. I have worked with the DAs office to identify and remove violent, serious, or repeat offenders who threatened quality of life in communities. I am committed to bringing about positive change, building strong relationships, being responsive, and improving the safety and quality of life for our diverse communities across the county.

I am a service-driven leader respectfully seeking your support as I continue my commitment to Sampson County. I would be honored to serve our community as your Sheriff and to work alongside the great men and women who are serving with the Sheriff Department to advance public safety, fairness, and community well-being.
